A nice perfect fixture in the back of any house would be a swimming pool. It’s the best place to cool down from the hot weather while you sip some chilled lemonade. Shopping for the right swimming pool can be the hard part. There are many different types of pools that you could have in your backyard.

There are many things you must consider before you go and purchase a pool is the size of your backyard. Do you have neighbors? Are they friendly neighbors? Not everyone is going to want to see you gallivanting around your awesome swimming pool. Is money an issue? There are options for all different kinds of people. No one deserves to go through the summer sweating profusely without any recourse.

The most affordable option for a swimming pool would be the above-ground pool. It’s by the far the easiest to build as well as the cheapest construction option. There is no reason to dig any costly holes in the ground. Simply pick a spot and the construction crew will be able to have it up in no time.

Another swimming pool is the fiberglass pool. It’s made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Plumbing must be added once the hole is dug into the ground and the preformed pool structure is placed into the hole in the ground. The fiberglass pool is usually surrounded by the concrete deck structure.

If that doesn’t float your boat there is the vinyl-lined pool. It’s similar to above-ground pool but it resembles the conventional in-ground pool designs. These types of pools are cheaper than their competing in-ground pool designs but they tend not to be as durable. The vinyl-liner (which is secured against the structural wall of the pool) usually needs to be replaced about every 10 years.

Gunite pools are the new craze and rightfully so. They offer more options in the custom design department. Once the crew digs the whole for the pool and the Gunite, a mixture of cement and sand, dries for a week the pool will be ready for a finish. The finish is where the fun begins because you can have a plaster finish, a special concrete paint finish, or a tile finish, an exposed aggregate finish as well as a fiberglass finish. The options are endless and will make any pool look like a celebrity in its own right.

If you're old-fashioned, you may be interested in the poured-concrete pool design. It’s tough to build and its demand has waned but it’ll be a perfect bonding experience if you decide to lay the pool on your own with family.

These are the best types of pools you’ll find for your backyard. Having a pool in your backyard will make a BBQ feel like a vacation. Once it’s up and running you’ll need a swimming pool cleaning weekly to keep it nice and fresh as a piece of eye-candy for all that come to visit you.
